Top Pitch brings together leading entrepreneurs and investors from the region and provides a space for investors and entrepreneurs to connect. Presenting companies - pre-selected from among PACT and TiE members - will make presentations to a panel of regional investors. The evening’s winning company is guaranteed a spot in the 2024 Mid-Atlantic Capital Conference.

About Our Judges:

VIJAY AGGARWAL

The Channel Group

Vijay has over thirty years of senior management experience in both pharmaceutical services and clinical diagnostics. He is currently Managing Partner of The Channel Group, LLC a life sciences venture development and management firm. He is also an active investor with the New York Angels and the Broad Street Angels.

Most recently, Dr. Aggarwal was President and CEO of Aureon Laboratories, Inc., a predictive pathology company offering advanced tissue analysis services to practicing physicians and the pharmaceutical industry. Previously, Dr. Aggarwal was CEO of Vaxigenix, a developer of immune treatments in oncology, President of AAI Development Services, a global contract research organization and President of Quest Diagnostic Ventures, where he had responsibility for new technology, new business models, clinical trials testing, and direct–to-consumer strategies.

He serves on the Boards of Accugenomics, Interpace Biosciences and Moleculera and is an advisor to Slone Partners. He earned a BA in Chemistry from Case Western Reserve University and a Ph.D. in Pharmacology/Toxicology from the Medical College of Virginia.

HOLLY FLANAGAN
Gabriel Investments

Holly is Managing Director of Gabriel Investments, where she has been responsible for sourcing and leading investments, diligence efforts and portfolio management for the last decade. Before Gabriel, Holly spent over 20 years in financial services and held various leadership positions in sales and business development for industry leaders such as Barclays and MBNA America (now Bank of America). She serves as Trustee for FS Investments’ Credit Income Fund, The Philadelphia Foundation, and Eisenhower Fellowships. Holly is a Founding Charter Member of TiE Philadelphia. Holly holds a BA and MBA from the University of Delaware.

KATHIE JORDAN
Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern PA

Kathie is the Managing Director of the Healthcare Investment Group at Ben Franklin Technology Partners, Southeast. She previously led the Coulter-Drexel Translational Research Partnership, an endowed non-dilutive fund with portfolio of 70+ technologies, ranging from small molecule therapeutics to medical devices and diagnostics at Drexel University. Technologies that were supported by the program have been licensed to over a dozen start-ups, with multiple products now on the market. She has served as a speaker, panelist, and moderator on the topic of university technology commercialization in the life science space, and was an adviser to the C3i program, which trains early-stage biomedical project teams in the commercialization of their innovations, and has been a reviewer for NSF, NIH, and the Flinn Foundation. She has a Ph.D. in molecular and cellular biology from the University of Washington and a BS in biology with honors from Haverford.
